July 3rd

In desperate need of some relaxing family time we headed out to Greenville, SC. Scott had the day off and we thought we should take the kids somewhere new. I wasn't in the mood to drive to far so the 1 hr 15 min trip was perfect.
We started out the day with breakfast in the car. Patriotic donut holes for the girls and cheese danishes for Scott and I. Not too healthy but delicious!
The first thing we did was head to the children's garden. They have 1 acre garden that includes a sensory area, an area about colors, letters, and some bronze sculptures to climb on. It was fun but honestly not as impressive as it looked on line.Then we spent a while at the water's edge. The girls were all cuddled up next to Scott. Watching this... The ducks were playing this leap frog game. It was the craziest thing I've seen. They would just got back and forth.

Then we moved to the actual park. The river is naturally cascading which is absolutely beautiful and there is this curving suspension bridge. It was great.
We just relaxed and explored and had fun.

After running around we headed to a different park to eat lunch. Kate was smart and got lots of water before we started. It's was a little bit of a trek.
Scott was sick of me trying to read the map so we decided it was his turn. It was supposed to be all on a walking trail. Somehow Scott didn't keep us quite on track. We ended up on an overpass.
Somehow we made it back on the trail and to the park for lunch.
As you can see, everyone was happy.
The girls had been wanting to go in this man made waterfall that they had in the park all day. It is for kids to wade in. We decided to wait until the end of the day when it was nice and hot. Of course though we got there and neither one of them actually wanted to touch the water. Crazy kids...
Then Kate started giving us this look and we knew it was time to go.

We had a great time and plan on going back again. As a bonus there is an outlet mall on the way home!
